::SAM SQUARED (a.k.a. Sam Lewis) AND WIDGET::
Sam Lewis is good-natured teenager who lives in a Chicago high-rise with Widget, his sidekick and best friend. For Sam, college is supposed to be the order of the day, but Sam and Widget usually find a more nonchalant approach to life, an easier path to follow. Widget is an eccentric little robot who has a funny personality to match Sam’s and an even funnier diet: soda cans, Pepsi, and chocolate-covered bullets. Widget can strap to Sam’s back and extend his legs to latch onto Sam’s shoes. This allows the duo to cruise around Chicago as they so desire–and at what altitude suits their fancy. Also, Widget’s blaster-feet don’t run on regular fuel; they run on Pepsi (and that’s a story in and of itself). Put together, these two form the heart and soul of the story, adventures, and humor.

::SALLY SHERMAN::
Seeing her green eyes, turned-up nose, red hair, and delicate sweetness, Sam is gone the moment he sets eyes on Sally early on in the story. Sally loves Sam in return with a heart that’s fierce and sweetly loyal. This creates somewhat of a problem. One of Widget’s greatest fears is that he will lose Sam’s attention if a fair maiden enters the picture. Now, with Sally, Sam and Widget have a whole new dynamic to work through.
The Fractoids–Low-ranking bots with unique duties in the Galactic Army (a.k.a Royal Army). Each one is a musical note (an A or a D, for instance). Every recruit is assigned 3 to 5 fractoids to “conduct” in combat.

::OBBY::
A worry-prone Doormaker. Doormakers are fractoids who create magical doors to any location in the universe via liquid color.

::CAM::
Stern, hyper-logical mission commander fractoid. Cam gets really peeved at those who don’t use logical, well, logic.

::24::
Bold-as-the-blazes defense bot whose dream fight is vs. an Anti-Note, or anything that is at least a gillion times bigger than he is. That’s not hard, as fractoids are only 1-2 feet high.

::MR. N::
A myseriously odd and quiet assistant fractoid who specializes in the color green.

::SERGIE::
A cheerful color specialist in purple.

::MR. Q::
An intense, zany specialist in orange. Often works in tandem with Sergie.

::48::
A very organized logic specialist who heads the recruiting mission for Sally. Cam heads Sam’s mission.

::THE ROYAL ALPHABET::
These are the original alphabet letters with which the King made the universe. Each also has a certain power and unique characteristics. Whoever finds them all will rule–or destroy–the armies of the universe.
::PETER SOLOMON::
Great-grandfather of Sam Lewis; changes his last name to “Lewis” to protect his family.
::GIDEON LEVY::
A doctor, Peter’s friend, and great-grandfather of Sally Sherman. Changes last name to “Sherman” for the same reason as Peter. Both Peter and Gideon are Russian Jews living in 1940’s Stalingrad.
::TIME FRACTALS::
Time fractals are rare formations scattered throughout the universe that are highly sought by both armies. A time fractal is a collection of circles, each of which is a particular year in history. One can travel anywhere in the universe to a certain year in history by jumping through a circle. Only a small cluster of six circles has ever been found, comprising 1942-1947. It’s been in possession of the Royal Army since its discovery.
::FRACTAL WEAPONRY::
Sam employs many forms of weaponry throughout the series. Fractal whips, fractal shotguns, grenade launchers, color bombs, and fractal gloves are a few of the many different armaments.
::THE ASYLUMS::
A secret network of Dark Army institutions on earth where humans are taken to be turned into monsters of sorts, usually human/Accidental hybrids.
